The half moon shaped table top makes for an ideal background on which to paint this scene. While the miscellaneous bushes and plants in the foreground initially catch the viewer's attention, the viewer's eye will most likely move back into the scene where the ornate club house still serves as a symbol of the wealth and grandeur associated with this very old private club.
